Julian Cunningham and Idriss Akabar are at Bronx Park utilizing the free gym equipment every Tuesday and Thursdays.
They say working out is a great way to regulate their mental health.
“This is an escape for every young man that is going through stuff at home, that is struggling at life, that is stressed out in life," said Akabar.
That's why they began offering free classes twice a week from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
They want to encourage people of all ages to channel their struggles into something positive.
“People tend to bottle things up, hold it in, we get that out over here," said Cunningham.
In just three months, the response has been positive.
“I started it at first 'cause it was more towards my mental health and state of mind because I used to go through a lot of depression and bullying, so these two saved me in a sense," said Lino, a 15-year-old who comes to their classes.
