21-year-old driver charged in fatal Bronx River Parkway crash released without bail

The 21-year-old man charged in a deadly crash on the Bronx River Parkway has been released without bail.
Mauricio Neyra was arraigned in Bronx Criminal Court today.
A judge released him on his own recognizance.
Neyra is charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated. Police say he was driving his 2019 Mercedes when he rear-ended a Volkswagen and lost control of his car, hitting two men on separate mopeds.
They were rushed to the hospital where they died.
Neyra’s next court appearance is Sept. 25.
