A shooting left a 17-year-old boy seriously injured Friday night in West Babylon, according to police.
Authorities say the incident happened during a house party just after 11 p.m. on 11th Street.
Detectives say the shooting was a targeted attack.
Police say the teen was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Thinking she heard fireworks at first, Angela Knice, of West Babylon, said she came outside of her home on 11th Street and saw the teen who police say was shot multiple times.
"The kid on the lawn, he was pale. I didn't know where he had gotten struck, so I was like, 'is he going to be OK?' It was upsetting," she said. "His friend was there with him like, 'stay with me, stay awake.' He was really there for him. It was crazy."
Homeowners on the block told News 12 off camera that the house where the party was has been an ongoing problem for the area for years.
Neighbors say the house is split into several apartments and the place has been a revolving door of renters over the years.
The Town of Babylon says four families are currently living in the home and an eviction notice was issued back in June.
News 12 was told inspectors will be back this week, but no major complaints have been made since the property was bought at auction last December.
No arrests had been made in the shooting as of Saturday evening.
